The Broadmoor
Colorado Springs, CO 80906
The Broadmoor is rumored to be haunted but reports state different reasons as to why. Some say there was a fire here in the past, others say there wasn't. Regardless of the stories, some staff members have seen a lady wearing 1920's style clothing walking around the main building. They believe she may be a ghost of Countess Portales, the wife of the Count who built the original casino building that was torn down in the 1990's.

I stayed at The Broodmoor around 2007 & didn't know it's history. I immediately felt IT as soon as I walked in through the lobby doors & told the front desk lady "something isn't right, what happened here!?" I set my purse and luggage down & noticed I had unknowingly dug my finger nails into the palms of my hands from clenching so hard. I wanted to leave within the first few minutes of arriving! I've stayed in many hotels and I've never felt like this before. I felt such a heavy, dreadful feeling the entire time I was inside hotel like I couldn't breathe and I wanted to escape. Some "pocket areas" in the hotel (near the water fountain) didn't feel as bad & the air was lighter that I could actually feel a sigh of relief. I had a very difficult time at night sleeping in the room. It felt like I was being watched and the air was so dreadfully heavy that I had a hard time breathing. It felt like bad things happened to people there especially to women. I don't know how or why I felt this only knew I couldn't wait till the morning so I could get out of hotel. I stayed outside of the hotel as much as possible and would've left but my husband had a work conference there & wasn't affected by IT like I was.
The pool area felt peaceful and I didn't want to leave that area. I floated in the pool for hours like I was in a meditative state. The land around the hotel has a peaceful spiritual "pull" and is so beautiful. The land is mesmerizing & talks to you. I kept hearing "save us." It was an experience I won't forget. I loved the land around the hotel but I'll never stay inside The Broodmoor again. I know it's haunted.
