The Cheyenne Canon Inn has many mysterious features, including doors that lead to nowhere and various trapdoors. It dates back to the early 1850's and has quite a history. It was once a gambling parlor, a sanctuary for nurses and finally the inn it is today. Guests have reported returning to their rooms late at night and seeing strange lights on the stairs and in the hallways of the inn. Other reports have spoken of spirits in period clothing, objects moving around by themselves and doors opening and closing by themselves.

Haunted Experience in 1995

I stayed here with my then boyfriend when attending a friend's wedding. The wedding party stayed at The Hotel Colorado. The second night my boyfriend went downstairs to watch TV in the B& B's then community living room. I was watching TV in the bedroom. We wanted to watch different programs I believe. So as I was watching after awhile I felt a strong feeling as though someone was watching me and it felt like a woman at that almost exact same time my boyfriend ran into the room jumped in the bed and said breathless, "Something was watching me!" We both covered ourselves up in the blanket and I said it's still watching us do you feel that too? And he said, "Yes!" We laid in bed with the TV on and the faucet turned on by itself and we both just looked at each other. We never saw anything just an overwhelming feeling like someone was watching us. It lasted what seemed like an hour and I said please leave us alone! After awhile the feeling lessened and we didn't feel that anyone was in our room. The water turned off too. The next morning going down to breakfast I asked the owners if the place was haunted and they said people had experienced things there but they never did...He said especially in the room next to ours! Well not that night it was definitely watching us very intently. I lived down valley from. Aspen in Basalt and my 5 years living in Colorado and traveling around experienced more paranormal stuff there than anywhere my whole life. Colorado Springs and the Cheyenne Canon Inn was one of those experiences. It was a beautiful place but scary.
