Croke-Patterson Mansion - Patterson Inn
Denver, CO 80203
This mansion turned inn was built in 1890 and has quite the interesting history. Legend says the original owner, Thomas B. Croke entered the mansion just once, and whatever he saw or felt was enough to convince him to never come back. He sold the home to Thomas M. Patterson, who owned it for several generations. The building has been a dance studio, a radio station, a boardinghouse, and offices in the past. Some strange things started happening when it was renovated into an office building. Two guard dogs were found dead on the sidewalk outside after apparently leaping from a third-story window, and typewriters, copy machines and phones started to work on their own. People have reported seeing spirits (including that of Thomas Patterson), knocks, voices, baby cries and foosteps.
